Advertising in the Bible Gateway App

Advertising equips us to do what we do: make the Bible freely available to people all around the world. That purpose hasn't changed since Bible Gateway's creation in 1994, but as our audience has grown over the years, so has the expense of making these Bibles available for free. Advertising helps us cover our operating costs so we can keep Bible Gateway free--and extend its reach even further. We don't view advertising as a "necessary evil," but rather as a positive way of supporting and building our ministry.

Of course, it's critical that any advertising on Bible Gateway does not conflict with our mission. If you spot an ad that you think is inappropriate, please let us know by sending a message through Settings in the app. Tap Support and then Contact Support to include the details of the ad, including a screenshot and URL. For assistance on how to gather this information:

  • URL: To send the ad's URL, right click on the ad and click 'Copy URL'. Paste it in your e-mail back to me.
  • Screenshot: To take a screenshot of the ad, please refer to this link: http://www.take-a-screenshot.org/ Attach the screenshot to your return e-mail.

If you have an Android or iOS device and are a Bible Gateway Plus subscriber, you will have an ad-free experience in the app once you sign in under the Menu icon (three lines in the upper left corner), Settings, and Account and Profile

If you don't have Bible Gateway Plus and would like to subscribe for an ad-free experience on BibleGateway.com and in the Bible Gateway App, click this link: https://www.biblegateway.com/plus/
