Advertising is one of the tools that equips us to do what we do: make the Bible freely available to people all around the world. Our purpose hasn't changed since Bible Gateway's creation in 1994--but as our audience has grown over the years, so has the expense of making these Bibles available for free. Advertising helps us cover our operating costs so we can keep Bible Gateway free and extend its reach even further. We view advertising as a positive way of supporting and building our ministry.
It's critical that any advertising on Bible Gateway does not conflict with our Christian mission. If you spot an ad that you think is inappropriate, please let us know.
Please note that a Bible Gateway Plus subscription removes much of the advertising on Bible Gateway. If you find the ads a consistent point of frustration, a Bible Gateway Plus subscription is the way to remove them while continuing to support Bible Gateway.
