How To: Add Notes

To take a note while you're reading Scripture on Bible Gateway, select a word, phrase, or verse. A toolbar will appear. Click the note icon:

Clicking on this note icon will open the note to the right of the Bible text:

Type anything you want into the note-taking window. Clicking Save backs up the note to your Bible Gateway account. Clicking Cancel removes the note and closes the window.

The note is now attached to the passage. Bible passages that you've annotated in this way are marked with this icon:

Clicking on that icon will open up your note to the right of the Bible text. You can then click Edit to change or add to the note text or Delete to remove it:

You can make more than one note for the same Bible passage. If there is a second note, you'll see both listed next to the Bible text under the Notes tab:

The notes you've taken are all stored on BibleGateway.com when you are logged into your Bible Gateway account. Any time you want to see the notes you have created for a Bible passage, click on the Notes tab to the right of the text.

You can also view, edit, or delete the notes you've taken by visiting the My Annotations section of your Bible Gateway account. Click your name in the upper right corner and click Notes.

When your notes are backed up to your Bible Gateway account, you can access them from any device as long as you're logged into your Bible Gateway account.
